pinterest, a lesson in personal failure

1.  A beautiful terrarium!
I made a beautiful mess.  In all honesty, I didn't read the instructions, but I'm pretty sure they didn't include a chop stick.

2.  Healthy chocolate chip cookie dough!
Okay, I may or may not have forgotten one of the ingredients, which may or may not have been critical because while this was edible, I'd never choose it over real cookie dough.
On the bright side though, since it was "healthy", I did have this for breakfast and it wasn't too bad!

3.  Magic Bathroom Cleaner!
Not really "magic", I still had to scrub...plus used half the bottle.

4.  Awesome DIY chalk board!
I didn't even get a chance to screw this one up (see above)!  Probably won't be making this for my imaginary children either...

SO...what are YOU up to this weekend?
You should totally be following me on Pinterest...I pin some awesome stuff!!

We could paint our elephants, fancy up our hair, or even help each other rainbow our houses!

sunday is for sharing

Hello!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
I've come across a couple things this week, that I thought I'd share.

Several people have commented on my eyeliner on some of my Thursday Lately videos, and honestly, it's really hit or miss whether or not I get it right.  But, I just found this simple tutotrial that, hopefully, will help me get it right more often than not!

I also have a few projects that I am going to give a try today.
First up, a giant chalk board!  I've been contemplating painting an entire wall with chalk board paint, but maybe easing it to it might be a better idea given that my last run around with this paint wasn't a awesome as expected...

This is my inspiration (found at Jen Loves Kev)

Okay, off to Wal*Mart for eyeliner and and oil drip pan!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

thursday lately

Happy Thursday!

These are my favorite leggings, and believe it or not, they are from Walmart!  I've tried leggings all over the place and all price points, I like these the most.

This is the terrarium I am going to make this weekend.

I got my J Crew Bubble Necklace here, for $20!

And my 2 little makeup finds, I got both at Target.

Linking up with Bex...a diary!

Simple

The sewing machine has not been banished to the basement yet.  After having success with this skirt, I felt confident enough to try a dress after seeing this tutorial.  I already had the fabric and ribbon and this dress was so easy peasy not to mention completed in an hour, that I am already dreaming of how I will change it up next time.
Stripes? a mini-dress?
I'm not sure, but I do know that this won't be the last time I make this dress.
I'm linking up with Pink Preppy Lilly Lover today for Pink and Green (two of my favs!) Thursday

PS Sorry about the poor quality pictures...I'm not sure what happened.

yellow + blue =

When I was in high school I was mildly obsessed with painting my nails.  In fact, I believe I may have recieved a detention for painting my nails in class my senior year.  Back then, painting my nails was a daily occurance, and while I no longer have time for such luxuries, I have recently reaquainted myself with nail polish.  I love all of the colors that are now available and I especially love playing with several at once.  After seeing ombre nails here, here, and here, I decided to give it a try...
I'm smitten.

Just like riding a bike.

I can't tell you how long it's been since I've sewn a single stitch, but after searching high and low for a few simple pocketed skirts (that are nowhere to be found beyond my imagination), I knew it was time to get reacquainted with Mr. Singer.

Although I wasn't sure I even remembered how to use my sewing machine, everything came back to me in an instant, and in no time at all I was all set up and sewing away.  I'll be perfectly honest, sewing isn't my favorite thing to do.  I really don't have the patience required for most projects, however, this skirt was so easy to make, and was finished in less than 2 hours!

Here are a few completely usefulless tips...
for more useful tips, check here or here
Now put your hair in a pretty bun, take that bike for a spin, or just put your hands in your pockets...
because you just make a skirt with pockets!!!

**take note girls, next time I invite you over for coffee,
make sure I cleaned out that creamer.

PS.  Can you tell I'm having a moment with the new bun look??
PPS.  Want my necklace?  It's the deal of the day!
