remember when...

I was doing the 30 for 30?  Well I completely failed at that.  This was the last outfit I put together, and while I don't exactly hate it, you can clearly see from my face that I'm not exactly thrilled either.  After taking these pictures and reviewing them I decided that there are plenty of stress inducing things in the world, getting dressed shouldn't be one.  I gave up trying to be perfect a long time ago, I wasn't able to perfect this challenge.  I'm okay with that.  Hats off you all of you who have done this you a much better women remixers than I.  You win.

After I stopped trying to remix, my brain was free to think up my SAMPLE SALE.  It's a pretty good tradeoff if you ask me!

I think Bex is announcing who won this colorful little necklace today, and I can't wait to see who won!  I'm almost as excited that I only have 15 more outfits to come up with.  If you hadn't noticed I threw a few things out the window...

I kind of miss my little blog world over the weekend, but it just makes Monday a little better, right?

My infatuation with hot pink paired with black & white is slowly fading (as with all my obsessions), but I'm not ready to kick it to the curb yet.  This outfit was verging on a little too precious for me, so I toughened it up with my shark ring and studded pumps.  Pretty tough, huh?

I'm not the best thrifter.  I usually go home empty handed, however I recently discovered the tie section and now it's my go to spot where I am almost certainly going to find a little success.  These two ties color coordinated perfectly, and really, who says ladybugs and giraffes can't be friends?

30 for 30 look 11

Are you guys tired of this top yet?  I kind of am, but not as much as these shoes.

The 30 for 30 challenge was fun the first week, but at almost halfway through, it is becoming more of a challenge.  I'm not sure why I'm finding it so difficult.  I think it is probably that I am feeling sorry for all the other clothes and shoes that didn't get chosen. 

If I decide to do this again, I'm definitely not going to limit my shoes.  Definitely not.

Pink & orange are dynamite together, a definite competitor to pink and b&w!  I love the snap detail on the back of this top.  From the front it looks pretty plain, so the snaps give it a little something extra.  On a side note, I don't know if I chose my shoes so wisely.  On one hand, I can wear these with everything...on the other, I have two pairs I haven't touched and I'm really not even sure what to do with.

Every morning I when I start to think about what I want to wear, I think, "I'm going to cheat today."  Then I remember how much I hate cheaters and decide to look at my list of 30 for 30 options and I'm able to pull something that I love together.    I know it's only my 3rd outfit, but I am really having fun with the 30 for 30.  The only things I really miss are more shoe options.  I think I might actually be able to do with 25 clothing items if I had unlimited shoe options.  Would that be cheating?

This outfit makes it official...I am in love with the 30 for 30 challenge.  I'm pretty sure I would not have paired this skirt with this top in a million years.  Hot pink with black and white is definitely one of my go to looks, but I'm really digging this combo.

When I wore this outfit the other day, as I was spaced out in my own little world, when a complete stranger came up to me and said,

"I just want you to know how beautiful you are." 

You can bet, I'll be wearing this again.

I'm kidding. 

Well, I might will definitely wear it again, but that's not my point.

I was so touched by her comment that I teared up a little bit. 

It was such a kind gesture, and it took me by surprise.  I soon got to thinking about all the times I've seen someone and thought the same thing, but I never said anything, and so I decided that from now on, I am going to make it a point to recognize and acknowledge beauty of all sorts.

TGI 5way ~ Dottie Necklace

I haven't done a TGI 5way in a while, so I thought I'd pull one together with a few of my 30 for 30 picks.  I've worn my new GS Lillian Dottie necklace a few times lately, here and here.  It definitely seems to be one of my go to pieces this summer.  I love the bold and playful statement of this necklace, and when I found this scarf, I became obsessed with orange, navy, and their various shades.

30 for 30 ~ The Chosen Few (err...30)

Ok, so here's what I'm wearing for the next 30 days.  I kind of have mixed emotions about this...dramatic, no?  On one hand, I feel a little paranoid that I have forgotten about something I really love.  But on the other hand, it actually makes getting dressed a little less overwhelming.  With only these 30 pieces I already have several outfits dancing in my head.  I have counted and recounted because it seems like too many things, but 11+2+2+3+3+5+2+2 does, in fact = 30.  Right??

So there you have it.  I am ready to start...properly on the beginning of the month.  

No shopping, just mixing.
