Hello, and Happy Monday!

How was your weekend? I'm not going to lie, mine was kind of awesome. In fact I'm still kind of dreamy and happy just thinking about it. Maybe it's because there are still a number of cupcakes lingering, but more likely because I got to spend lots of time with friends and loved ones celebrating my sister's 30th birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH SARAH!!! {everyone celebrates for a month right??}

Winter also seems to have arrived (much to my dismay), and I picked up this surprisingly warm sweater(??) skirt at Target over the weekend. I've had my eyes on a pair of similar tight/leggings, but couldn't decide if it was the most flattering pattern to cover my legs in. This skirt seems to be the best compromise for comfy cozy as well as flattering.

Happy {day after} Christmas!

Did all your dreams come true?

I don't know about you, but the day after Christmas is always a bit of a let down for me because no matter how you look at it, it's a WHOLE year until it's Christmas again {or maybe you're happy to wind the season down?}. Either way, color is what is cheering me up. Remember when I told you about the 3 color rule, well, some days 3 colors just isn't going to cut it. And, before you accuse me of showing 0 restraint in the color department, this outfit did start off with a different color pair of tights. My will power astounds me some days...

{I kind of want everything...}

I have been able to narrow it down to 4 dresses (such restraint!).

1. Tiered crepe maxi dress - I kind of love this dress, I am already thinking of pairing it with a fitted leather jacket now, and strappy sandals all summer long! Eshakti custom fits all their products, so I KNOW it will be long enough.

2. Ruffle front cotton dress - LBD meet LRD

3. Ruffle front surplice dress - this dress is a no brainer, it's my style and I know it will look amazing...however, maybe I should try something a little different?? But it does come in blue...

4. Scalloped sequin shift dress - this is the perfect little party dress. I still have a few holiday parties to attend, and since eshakti ships in 3 days, I'll get it just in time!! I love it because it has a unique shape with the scalloped edge + it sparkles.

They are all so beautiful, I just don't know which one to choose! Which dress would you choose??

There comes a time every year when I am forced to succumb to the weather and wear jeans. Yup, twice this week. Winter, just because you bring Christmas does not make you my friend, or even frenemy for that matter.

Speaking of fremenies, I had completely talked myself out of a faux fur vest after a particularly traumatic scene in a J Crew dressing room last year, until this girl came back from Aspen on the hunt for the perfect fur vest. After a few days of text after adorable text picture of her looking amazing in fur vests, I started coveting one myself, and before long, I had one of my very own...

Winter you are my enemy. Chris you are my friend.

This sweater is 100% ridiculous, but it made me laugh when I saw it, so home it came with me. First of all it has a fox on it (possibly a wolf?). Second of all, the fox is wearing a bow. Although it seems like this may not be the most versatile sweater ever, I may or may not have worn it 3 days in a row over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Well, Hello! Long time no see...

When your sister starts to complain that your blog is boring her, you know you better get it together.

I promise I've been wearing clothes, but since they didn't get photographed they didn't happen, right?

This coat is the best $20 I've spent in a long time, I snatched it up with a few others at the Old Navy 75% off sale a few weeks ago. I'm putting it to good use these days...while this coat has everything to do with cute, it has nothing to do with warm.

2. I am loving this blue wrap dress from Ann Taylor. The online shade isnothing like the bold cobalt color of the dress in the store window. Sure, awrap dress is nothing spectacular but the color of this is show stopping -perfect for a casual evening holiday party.

3. Shimmer and shine in this multi sequin drape vest. The perfect little NewYear's Eve item is just my kind of addition - nothing too crazy or out there,but just enough greatness to add shine.

4. Everyone knows I love animal print, so these leopard print booties arecalling my name. Like seriously, calling out to me. Again, I can see thempaired simply with a little black dress or a great pair of pants for theholiday festivities.

Hello gs lillian readers... it's Jill here from good life for less! I'm ahuge fan of Shelly's blog and jewelry so I am thrilled to be here with youladies! Today Shelly asked me to share my wish list for Christmas thisyear... but first I have a confession to make. My husband and I usuallyexchange 'practical' gifts that we decide on in advance - we are so boring likethat! This year we really want a new tv and Apple tv for our bedroom. So it's a bit of a splurge, but definitely not 'fun'. With that inmind, I had a blast choosing some fun girly items (that can't be found at BestBuy!) to put on my wish list to Santa-baby.

First up, I'm totally crushing on Dooney & Bourkelately... isn't this bag such a beauty! I promise I've been good Santa!

Each season I love to see what colors Essie decides as THEcolors of the season for nails. This little four-pack could slip nicelyright inside my stocking!

Sequins make everything better, no? I have been crushing onthese sequined flats for a while now... I can picture them on my feet to ringin the New Year!

The ultimate indulgence? Cashmere socks... mmmmm! To warm mytoes and heart (am I the only one with perpetually cold feet in thewinter?).

RachelRoy Eye Palette- This is her first venture into beauty and I can't wait totry out these colors! I have always thought Rachel Roy wears eye makeupso well, so maybe this palette will help me achieve her look!

GS LillianZoe Earrings- I always love a good statement earring, and these are just sofun. Loving the color palette of brown, navy, periwinkle and avocado!

when shelly asked me to be a part of this holiday wish series i was pumped then became slightly panicked.

we're almost a month away from Christmas and i haven't given much thought to what i'd like to see under my tree this year.

however all i needed was a moment to think and the wishes came flooding in.

i'm so excited to share with you what i'm hoping santa leaves under my tree.

here are a few of my faves.

1. sequin mini. i'm in love! i need, i want, i have to have before the holidays.

2. gs lillian zoe cuff. this lovely has been on my Christmas list since the summer.

3. kiboots. must. have. now. i actually won a pair now to just pray i actually get em.

4. colored skinny cords. ok these are a must! they'd be so great all the way through until spring.

5. navajo inspired tees. the navajo trend has captured my attention & graphic tees are always fun.

6. burgundy floppy hat. because a girl can never have too many floppy hats.

7. dolce & gabbana light blue perfume. only the best perfume on the planet. its on my holiday wish list every year.

When I was a kid I couldn't wait for Christmas, especiallypresents. But now that I have two kids(and another on the way), I don't even exchange gifts with my hubby, Camouflage. Though every once in a while I'll buy myselfsomething from him :)

I am trying really hard these days to be conscious of what I am purchasing and only add pieces to my wardrobe that I will love for years to come. My absolute favorite wardrobe essentials are turtlenecks, skinny belts, pencil skirts + colorful pumps. All of these pieces are classic and will be worn time after time after time.
{until I decide I hate yellow or purple or aqua, that is}

I had successfully NOT purchased this dress at Target Friday morning. Even though it was less than $10, I told myself I can only purchase things I really love...no matter how cheap they are, and I wasn't in love with the neckline on this dress...

When I got home, I checked out what was going on over at Two Birds for Inspiration Monday.

I IMMEDIATELY ran back to target to get this dress. It is so easy and comfortable, and perfect for Inspiration Monday.

And the neckline? I'm wearing it backwards!

I'm in love. Purchase justified.

So this was as creative as I got for Halloween. I actually ~~really don't like~~ hate getting dressed up in a costume. Dressed up...yes, costume...no. I've had these sequin leggings in my closet for years and this is the first time I have worn them. Somehow they have survived the giveaway pile time after time. In fact, when I pulled them on yesterday to go down to the city, I thought "this is it, you guys are out of here", but then I pulled out an old standby, the black turtleneck, and a match was made in Halloween bah-humbug history! I felt slightly festive with out looking like a clown (or anything else for that matter).

Win-Win.

How was your weekend? Did you celebrate Halloween already?? It's kind of a bummer that it lands on a weeknight this year, but I'm headed to NYC for the Village Parade with my sister. She claims she's NEVER been to a real parade. How is this possible?? The Halloween parade in NYC is always a fun and interesting time. My favorite part is pictured above. I love to see the shadows of the paper mache puppets dance on the buildings along 6th Avenue.

Another Target clearance find. I think this dress was something like $8. I never even saw it in the full price section. I rediscovered these cute little vintage earrings in my overhaul this weekend. And by overhaul I mean I was able to part with 3 pairs of earrings and one broken necklace. That's what happens when you buy only what you love...unfortunately I love a lot of things.

Over the weekend something came over me and all of the sudden I needed to organize everything in sight. First up, all the jewelry on my dresser. It was in some semblance of order, but I really had no idea what I had or where it was. After a quick trip to Homegoods where I found a wire napkin holder, and a pop into Target where I found this to match. I had everything I needed to get some order to all this jewelry. Now I know right were to go when I need something because I can see it all on display.

I kind of wish I had an extra "closet" room where I could put this, but for now it stays in my bedroom...

How was your weekend? Mine didn't end up with apple picking (well actually, it kind of did...I picked up a new white iPhone!!!) but it did end up with some major jewelry organization. My dresser was a mess of tangled chains, multiple pairs of the same earrings, and long forgotten favorites. I wish I had taken a few before pictures for you, but I will have some after pictures (from my new iPhone!?!***) for you later today. I found some pretty ingenious jewelry organizer by thinking a little outside of the box.

I hadn't even realized how Target heavy this outfit was until I started labeling it. I'm sure you've noticed that I don't post a lot of links to the separate pieces. It's because I RARELY even look at full priced items anymore, I always head straight for the clearance section...ESPECIALLY at Target. Well, with the exception of belts. Have you noticed the abundance of skinny belts Target is carrying these days, I can hardly make it out of the store without one in my bags.

It's Monday my friends and I decided to blast you with a fall color explosion. It's going to be mini skirt week here at GS Lillian. It's finally cool enough to bust out tights and I have several skirts that are just a touch too short to wear bare legged. I know some people think that colored tights (beyond black) are a no-no, but I love them, so they'll probably be a staple for the next few months. Seriously how fantastic is the contrast between my yellow shoes and fuchsia tights?!

Have I even mentioned how much I'm digging nail polish these days? It's such a cheap and easy treat. A couple of you have asked me if I had tried the above manicure yet, and since I had pinned it quite a while ago, I thought I'd finally give it a try. I found this video which helped a lot. It's really not that difficult, the only really time consuming part is taping off your fingers, other than that...easy peasy.

Does this necklace look familiar? I REALLY wanted the aqua anthropologie necklace that everyone has. When I went to buy it, I realized that the "crystals" were actually plastic and I was totally turned off, so I decided to make one for myself. Well, as it turns out, 10 crystals are super heavy. Target Tuesday ~ Cloche

Last year was such an intense winter that I went a little crazy with winter gear. Well, I heard a little rumor that this winter is supposed to be just as tough. Eeeek! So, I've decided to get started early on adding to my winter collection at Target. How adorable are these hats?! I plan on jazzing them up a little as noted above, but other than that, these are just about off my wishlist and into my shopping cart.
