summer to fall

As sad as I am for summer to end, I am equally excited for fall...and boots!  I know I will be craving easy summer dresses come December, but I can't dull my desire to wear boots.  And, while I do feel a bit Taylor Swift in this little ensemble, it was exactly what I wanted to wear...a mix of summer and fall.

This skirt is quickly becoming a staple in my closet.  It's so comfortable and easy to throw on.  Remember when I wore it as a dress?

A funny side note.  My shoes are really old.  I bought them when I first moved to NYC a long, long, time ago.  I've probably worn them twice, at the time I thought they were so SATC...ha!

The best thing I got in NYC also joined me for a few pictures.  She doesn't get as much camera action as my lab, but I love her just as much (just not her wiggly nature).

Come November I'm probably going to be pretty sad I started dressing for fall so early, but I can't help it, I LOVE fall!

I thought of this outfit last spring, but it just didn't feel right for spring, so now that it is almost fall I couldn't hold out any longer!  Two more fantastic Target finds.  If it weren't for Target, I might be rich...

what to wear?

I definitely have way too many clothes to complain about having nothing to wear, but some days I'm just not super inspired by what I see in my closet.  Today was one of those days.  I complained to my sister, and she said "Aren't there any "blog challenges" to do?"  Nope.  Then I asked her to challenge me, and she said why don't you go put on things that don't match...

I'm not sure if these colors clash exactly, but the stripes definitely don't "match".

On a side note, I also asked my hair what to do with it.  I don't speak hair, but I'm pretty sure it begged not to be brushed.  I hate brushing and fixing my hair in general.  Is that weird?

DIY Flower Brooch

flower power + 20 questions

Do you have a color?  Blue is my color.  I love it in almost any shade, but especially in this one.  And how awesome is this RED door!?  I made my giant flower brooch too.  Remember when I said I would do a tutorial?  Well it rained all day yesterday and I finally did it.  I'm posting it tomorrow for your DIY pleasure!

This guy is still available on my sample sale, and I can't believe someone hasn't snatched it up!  I don't think it photographs well because it matches this dress and I think it is fantastic!  If I didn't already have one, I would definitely keep this one.

Target Tuesday

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this skirt.  I love the pattern, the colors, and the fact that I can pile on the GSL because it works perfectly with my jewelry.  I also love that it was $12 on the clearance rack!!  

See these boots?

I NEED them.  They were recently on sale at Endless, but they didn't have the color I wanted in my size.  They are Frye Celia boots in NAVY.  I have looked everywhere online and locally for them.  Here's a link.  I need them in a size 10 (yes, I have big feet).  If you find them anywhere for me to buy I will give you a $250 GS Lillian gift certificate + you will get to be my new BFF!!  I'm pretty sure they are from last season so they may be hiding somewhere like Marshalls (unfortunately not MY Marshalls).

remember when...

I was doing the 30 for 30?  Well I completely failed at that.  This was the last outfit I put together, and while I don't exactly hate it, you can clearly see from my face that I'm not exactly thrilled either.  After taking these pictures and reviewing them I decided that there are plenty of stress inducing things in the world, getting dressed shouldn't be one.  I gave up trying to be perfect a long time ago, I wasn't able to perfect this challenge.  I'm okay with that.  Hats off you all of you who have done this you a much better women remixers than I.  You win.

After I stopped trying to remix, my brain was free to think up my SAMPLE SALE.  It's a pretty good tradeoff if you ask me!

EBEW : Pattern Mix

I love pattern mixing, however I don't think I'm the best at it.  I can pull together like colors, but I love it when I see someone pull off something totally unexpected, which is why I can't wait to peruse EBEW this month to hopefully gain some insight in the whole pattern mixing issue.
